Every Christmas, we invite supporters to help bring joy to the animals spending the festive season with us by making a Santa Paws Box. These shoeboxes, filled with treats and toys, are given to the dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, rodents and birds at Little Valley to open on Christmas morning. Watching them tear into the wrapping and discover their gifts is always a highlight of the year for our staff and volunteers.
Kindly Supported by Fifields Construction
Grab an old shoebox. Fill it with treats, toys and nice pet safe things for an animal in our care.
Wrap the shoebox in paper and label which animal it’s for (Dog, Cat, Rabbit, Ferret, Rodent or Bird)
Hand it to a staff member or deliver to the shelter for an animal to open on Christmas day!
You can also buy items directly from our curated Amazon Wish Lists, which are updated with the things our animals need most:
This year, with our building works limiting space at the shelter, we are thrilled that our friends at Fifields, who are leading the construction project, have stepped in to help. The Fifields team will be storing shoeboxes under their office Christmas tree before bringing them to Little Valley in time for the big day. They will also be spreading the word across their networks, encouraging even more people to get involved.
Lucy from Fifields told us
We are so excited to be part of the Santa Paws Appeal this year. Everyone here, across Fifields and our sister companies, can’t wait to make up their own boxes for the animals. It’s such a wonderful way to give something back at Christmas, and we’re really looking forward to delivering them to Little Valley in time for the big day.
Fifields’ support will make a huge difference in helping us run the appeal smoothly, but the success of Santa Paws really depends on you. Every shoebox made by a supporter helps make Christmas brighter for an animal waiting for a new home.
From as little as £5, £10 or £15, you can give a special gift in the name of a dog, cat, rabbit, ferret or small animal. These are financial donations, but they will go towards providing food, toys and enrichment for our shelter animals. It’s a simple, powerful way to make a lasting difference.
