Little Valley Animal Shelter relies on our network of volunteers who work tirelessly to help us make life better for the animals in our care.
Volunteering for Little Valley Animal Shelter is a great way to use your spare time to make a positive difference. Roles are available to support our charity shops, offices and shelter (both with our animals and helping on the grounds) and we’ll update this page with vacancies frequently.

Shop and retail volunteers
About the role
Our six charity shops are always in the need of extra pairs of hands. Jobs range from sorting and pricing newly donated stock, merchandising and customer service.

Community events volunteers
About this role
Join our charity as a community events volunteer help ensure an amazing experience for everyone taking part in or attending an event or challenge to raise funds for the Little Valley Animal Shelter.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved and we’d like to built a team who bring bags of energy and enthusiasm to help us deliver first class events to inspire and connect animal loving communities.
You could be involved with anything from helping us to man stalls at Shelter Fun Days or shows, set up or pack down events, marshalling walking or running courses, or awarding our fundraisers or participants their well deserved goody bag.
Anyone can join us as an event volunteer, whether you’ve got event experience or not, as long as you’re ready to get stuck in we’d love to have you.

eBay volunteers
About this role
We’re looking to fill a selection of voluntary roles to support our growing eBay store.
Firstly we’re on the look out for volunteers with an eye for antiques and valuable items to assist with the identification and valuation of donated goods. You would be using your knowledge and experience to provide support and advice to the team at the Little Valley, giving information about unusual items to allow us create engaging and accurate eBay listings set at the right price. This role can be based either at home or at the Shelter depending on your preference.
We’re also looking for retail savvy volunteers to assist with more manual tasks at the Shelter. These tasks could include the sorting, photographing, listing, packing and mailing of items. You’ll need to be computer literate and have an eye for detail and presentation.
