Fabulous Ferrets

At Little Valley, we currently have seven fabulous ferrets waiting to find their forever homes. These little characters are cheeky, playful, and full of fun, yet often overlooked compared to more familiar pets. So what makes ferrets such wonderful companions?

Ferrets are endlessly entertaining. They love to bounce, dook (that funny chuckling sound), and explore every nook and cranny of their world. Many even enjoy walks on a harness, though you always need caution outdoors as they are curious, speedy, and easily distracted.

They are also affectionate pets. Ferrets often curl up together in the cutest sleeping piles, and with their humans they can be snuggly, loyal, and full of charm. Of course, like all animals, they have their quirks. Ferrets have a distinctive musky smell (it’s part of their charm!), and they tend to play-bite, which is how they interact with each other. With patience, consistency, and understanding, these habits become part of the fun rather than a problem.

• Ferrets can sleep for up to 18 hours a day, saving all their energy for mad moments of play.
• They are natural explorers, which means secure housing is a must – no gap is too small for a determined ferret!
• Ferrets thrive best in pairs or groups; they love company.

Right now, we have three groups hoping for homes: gentle girls Layla and Nicole, cheeky brothers Otis and Odin, and our foodie trio Nacho, Cheese, and Salsa. Each has their own personality, but all share one thing – they’re ready to bring mischief, laughter, and love into the right home.
