Community in action for animals

What a lovely start to the year, with lots of you getting involved and reaching out to make a difference in our community. Here are just a few nice thoughts to share …

Local Schools

At RSPCA Devon, we strive to put the P in RSPCA, Prevention. It has been heartwarming to work with more local schools and groups, helping us support the generations of tomorrow to understand animal welfare and care. Special thanks to Exwick Heights Primary School for encouraging their Civic Award children to support local charities through volunteering and fundraising, which you can see more about on our Thank You page, as well as thanks to Christow Primary School for inviting us to speak to their children ahead of a school fundraiser. Would your school or group like to hear more about the local work of the RSPCA? Visit our website to make your talk request.

Stan Hacking Concert Band

Thank you to everyone who attended the Music from the Movies concert we held in March. The feedback we had from supporters, and the band, was amazing and I’m pleased to say that our concert was one of the band’s best fundraisers to date and we still have donations coming in! It is always a privilege to work with local groups who are passionate about helping the community. If you are part of a group or organisation who would like to fundraise for animal welfare in Devon, let us know.

Gifts in Wills

During March, it was lovely to have more supporters reaching out who are interested in leaving gifts in their Wills. But March and October aren’t the only months to think about the ultimate life admin. Wills offer the peace of mind and security of knowing that your memory and wishes will be respected in the days that come after you. If you would like to talk to us about leaving a gift in your Will, please get in touch.

I hope you have a brilliant rest of the Spring and Summer, and we’ll see you in the community soon,
