We were delighted to welcome a fantastic team of volunteers from HSBC to Little Valley this summer. Over three days, the group helped to transform our Dog Sensory Garden, creating a calm and stimulating space that will play an important role in helping dogs build confidence and prepare for their forever homes.
As part of their organisation’s volunteering scheme, the HSBC team worked through sunshine and heavy rain to tidy, repair and revitalise the garden. Their hard work and enthusiasm were matched by a generous £1,500 donation towards the project, helping us make lasting improvements for the dogs in our care.

Kayleigh Parkes, Network Manager at HSBC, shared what inspired her to get involved:
“After losing my cockapoo earlier this year, I felt inspired to volunteer with animals. Meeting the Little Valley team at the Devon County Show left a real impression on me, and I knew I wanted to get involved. Through our volunteering scheme, my colleagues and I spent three days transforming the Dog Sensory Garden. It was incredibly rewarding to give back and a fantastic way for our team to come together and do something meaningful. We’re so grateful to the Little Valley team for being so welcoming, and for giving us the chance to meet some of the lovely animals too.”
We’re incredibly thankful to Kayleigh and the entire HSBC team for their generosity, teamwork, and support. Projects like this make a real difference to the animals and staff at Little Valley, and we look forward to welcoming more corporate volunteers in the future.
