Dr Fay Gale has been a vital part of Little Valley Animal Shelter for at least the past 29 years, working as part of the team at St David’s Vets to help us provide the very best care for the thousands of animals who have needed us over the years.
Fay’s wealth of knowledge and experience, together with her wonderful (and occasionally needed!) sense of humour, have been an inspiration to us all. We are deeply grateful to her for her kindness, patience, and unwavering commitment to Little Valley and the animals we care for.
From climbing into cupboards for the best lighting conditions to check samples, to getting into all sorts of awkward positions to examine animals, and needing to clamber over Little Valley flood defences when necessary, Fay has always gone the extra mile. She has also been there for us to contact outside of her agreed Shelter hours whenever needed which has been an enormous help. Her dedication has made a huge difference time and time again.
Alongside Little Valley, Fay has also been a dedicated vet for Cats Protection in Exeter. Her retirement was celebrated at Axehayes, where past and present team members came together to mark her incredible contribution.
She will be greatly missed as one of Little Valley’s true unsung heroes, and we wish her a very happy retirement.
