Volunteer and help Devon’s animals in need
Little Valley Animal Shelter relies on our network of volunteers who work tirelessly to help us make life better for the animals in our care. Volunteering for Little Valley Animal Shelter is a great way to use your spare time to make a positive difference. Roles are available to support our charity shops, offices and shelter (both with our animals and helping on the grounds) and we’ll update this page with vacancies frequently.
-
We have currently paused recruitment for volunteering roles in our shelter due to major building work being undertaken on the site. You are very welcome to still apply, and we will add you to our waiting list, ready for when we reopen these roles. Please note, this work is anticipated to take 12months, but we will reopen volunteering as soon as possible within that time.
-
You must be 16 or over to volunteer at our shelter or shops. Please do not apply if you are under 16 as we won’t be able to take your application forward.

Community Champions
Join our charity as a Community Champion volunteer and help ensure an amazing experience for all participating in or attending events to support Little Valley Animal Shelter. We’re building a team full of energy and enthusiasm to deliver top-notch events, inspiring and connecting animal-loving communities. Whether it’s manning stalls, setting up events, marshaling courses, or rewarding fundraisers, everyone is welcome to join, regardless of experience.

eBay & Vinted volunteers
We’re seeking volunteers to support our expanding eBay and Vinted stores. If you have a knack for antiques and valuable items, join us in identifying and evaluating donated goods. Your expertise will enhance our listings. We also need retail-savvy volunteers for tasks like sorting, photographing, packing and sending items. Whether you prefer remote or on-site work, there’s a role for you.
